Smart Freight Vehicle & Green Logistics

Smart Freight Vehicle and Green Logistics (SFVGL) was founded in 2017, with the aim of combining low-carbon vehicle technology and sustainable transportation research to achieve energy saving and emission reduction of both automobiles and road transportation.

Currently, SFVGL consists of three universities and two industrial partners. The main goal is to achieve breakthroughs in complex scientific, technical and engineering issues involved in low-carbon vehicles and road transportation, through effective cross-disciplinary and cross-field collaboration and innovation.

The organizational structure of SFVGL is shown in Figure 1. With government participation and international cooperation, the SFVGL is working on creating a platform that facilitates multi-disciplinary integration, multi-team collaboration, and multi-technology combination for innovative research on smart vehicles and low-carbon transportation solutions.

The SFVGL has built up a research base for industry-university research collaboration in automotive engineering, and an innovation demonstration zone with cutting-edge low-carbon technologies, through the in-depth collaboration with academic experts and industry partners. At present, SFVGL mainly focuses on four research aspects: (1) Smart vehicle energy saving and safety technology, (2) Smart connected vehicle aerodynamics, (3) Planning, testing and operation management of automobile logistics system, and (4) Sustainable development, entrepreneurial ecology and policy analysis of automobile logistics industry.
